We decided to explore the neighborhood, North Beach (San Fran's little Italy) a bit before heading out for the big show later that evening (more on that in the next post). We climbed Lombard Street to admire views of Coit Tower and Telegraph Hill. We stopped for dinner at a little trattoria that had photos of celebrities from the 80s adorning the wall. And, again, the weather was beautiful. So, we found ourselves with very little to complain about.
The next day, we had until noon to explore. We ended up walking up Telegraph Hill and down the Filbert Steps (which demonstrated just how high up the Telegraph Hill neighborhood is from the waterfront). We also checked out the uber-touristy Pier 39. Man, what a riot those sea lions are. There were about a hundred of them hanging out on the docks, barking loudly and stinking up the place. So, naturally, we loved that. Before heading to the airport, we checked out a couple of North Beach eateries, scoring a yummy Italian lunch and some gelato for the road.

It was windy up there! This is S... censored as he's pointing out Alcatraz. =)
